Elizabeth Kew

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Online and in-person in Leyton, East London

Personal therapy can be challenging and revealing, talking about experiences that cause pain, sadness or embarrassment can be difficult. I believe that if you feel listened to without a fear of being judged, working in a trusted relationship can encourage real long-lasting change. I will always strive to provide this same supportive environment to you.

My own journey through therapy has shown me the profound impact of feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. If you're looking to build resilience to navigate life’s challenges, or are simply curious about therapy and exploring what you might learn about yourself, this could be a great opportunity to find out more.

I offer both short term and long term open-ended therapy in person, online, over the phone and message based across the UK and internationally. These flexible appointments allow you to fit therapy in around your routine.

About me
About me

Hello, my name is Elizabeth/Lizzie (She/Her).

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in-line with the BACP ethical framework.

To find self-discovery, meaning, and purpose, I began my journey to become a therapist. I graduated with a BSc in Counselling at the University of East London, a degree accredited by the BACP. My bachelor’s research explored my personal experiences following the use of psilocybin and its impact on my own counselling journey.

I began my clinical work at Islington Mind,  providing tailored, integrative face-to-face counselling. This involved working with complex psychological, emotional and mental health issues including personality disorders, schizophrenia and autism. Other areas that were often explored involved identity and LGBTQIA+ related concerns.

I have experience as an associate counsellor at St. Mary's Hospital, offering in person therapy for the NHS staff working in the sexual health clinic which offers immediate testing, treatment and advice for STI’s.

Prior to my counselling and psychotherapy practice, I volunteered at The Listening Place, a charity that offers face-to-face support for those who feel life is no longer worth living.

Sessions and Fees

Sessions

I offer a free 15-minute no obligation introductory phone call to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and explore how we may work together. This gives you the opportunity to decide if you feel that the relationship is right for you. I offer open-ended or short and long-term therapy online, over the phone and message based. We can discuss the best approach for you during our initial call.

If we choose to work together, we would typically arrange to meet weekly in person in Leyton E10, online, by phone call or via a message based app at an agreed time for a 50-minute session.

Fees

I offer a sliding scale of fees, sessions range between £60-£100.

I reserve a limited number of concessionary rates for students, trainees and those on low income. Please feel free to enquire about the availability of these concessions so we can discuss this in the introductory call.

How I work

I have a background in yoga teaching with a keen interest in somatics and the mind/body connection. My therapeutic approach can be described as integrative, blending a holistic approach with Psychodynamic, Existential, Humanistic theory and practice that best support your needs. Anything that you choose to bring to a session is what will be explored, at a pace that is both appropriate and effective for your needs. I will listen to your unique story, explore what you want to gain from therapy and tailor my approach to meet you where you are at.

I believe that one size does not fit all and so my approach offers flexibility to suit your individual needs. We will work collaboratively to identify links, patterns and themes to help you develop a greater understanding of yourself whilst also working towards a more meaningful and purposeful future, with more choices and possibilities for personal growth and change.

I hold an advanced clearance from the Government’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and have comprehensive professional liability insurance. Additionally, I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and all client data is securely stored on password-protected drives in compliance with GDPR.
